According to government sources, the chance of both a major Tokyo metropolitan area inland earthquake and a major Nankai trough earthquake occurring in the next 30 years is 70%. Typhoons and volcanic eruptions also threaten Japan regularly.
So CRASH Japan conducts seminars on how to be ready for the next big disaster, organizes church preparedness networks, and maintains a blog with information about earthquakes and other disasters (http://www.tokyodisaster.blogspot.jp in Japanese only).
Upon request we also send preparedness seminar presenters to churches, pastors’ associations, and regional communities.
A directory of preparedness networks in the Tokyo area can be found at Tokyo Network Map.
