Mobile Café

FUND: Community Fund

Mobile Cafés are a relationship building opportunity, focused on the community within temporary housing complexes. CRASH staff, volunteers, and partner church/organization members come together and run free cafés at temporary housing complexes across Tohoku. Within temporary housing areas, there is a community meeting space where the residents come, have free coffee, tea, and snacks, and chat with volunteers and other housing residents. This provides much needed emotional care for the survivors, and increased opportunities for the CRASH staff and volunteers to share the gospel. There are currently eight Mobile Cafés throughout Tohoku which CRASH runs or takes part in:

  • Fukushima Hope Café

  • Ichinoseki Mobile Café (Senmaya, Murone, Kesennuma, Rikuzentakada and Ofunato)

  • Mitazono Mobile Café

  • Soma Ohana Café

  • Tono Hope Café (Kamaishi and Otsuchi)

  • Ishinomaki / Onagawa Mobile Café

  • Tona Mobile Café

  • Yamamoto-cho Mobile Café

Partners

Since last year, mobile cafés have been run by CRASH staff and volunteers from our 5 bases in the Tohoku area, with eventual transition to local churches taking responsibility for these cafés.

Goal

1,000,000-2,000,000 yen

To Be Used For
